Lux Helsinki 2026

Lux Helsinki is a free light art festival that will take place in Helsinki from 30 December 2026 to 6 January 2027.

Lux Helsinki is an annual light art festival held in Helsinki during the darkest time of the year. The festival brings light installations, projections and contemporary visual art to the city’s streets, squares, building façades and hidden urban spaces. The event offers visitors a chance to experience Helsinki in winter in a new way. Instead of being limited to one venue, Lux Helsinki usually forms a walkable route across the city, turning public spaces into an open-air art exhibition. The next Lux Helsinki will take place from 30 December 2026 to 6 January 2027. The festival will begin before New Year and continue into early January, making it a special winter event for both residents and visitors. Lux Helsinki is suitable for families, tourists, art lovers and anyone looking for a free cultural experience in Helsinki. Admission to the festival is free.
