Open Day at Turku Central Fire Station will take place on Sunday, 20 September 2026, from 10:00 to 14:00. This free family-friendly event offers visitors a chance to learn more about rescue services, fire safety and the history of firefighting in Turku. During the event, visitors can get to know the work of the rescue services, explore fire engines and an ambulance, and even try initial firefighting under guidance. The Finnish Road Safety Council and the Emergency Response Centre Agency will also be present. A special part of the programme is the fire museum **Kellari**, located at Turku Central Fire Station. Experienced veterans will guide visitors through the museum and take them on a journey through the history of firefighting, old rescue equipment and the development of emergency services. The event is suitable for the whole family, especially children who are interested in fire engines, emergency services and how firefighters work. Admission is free of charge.
