Helsinki Winter Garden is a free public green oasis north of Töölönlahti. It opened to the public in 1893 and has remained free to visit since the beginning.
The Winter Garden offers greenery throughout the year, with seasonal flowers adding variety. At Christmas, visitors can see poinsettias, azaleas and amaryllis, while spring brings daffodils and tulips.

The historic greenhouse contains more than 200 plant species divided into three halls: the cactus room, palm room and west wing. The oldest plant is a camellia more than 130 years old. Together with the rose garden in front and the cultivation area behind it, the Winter Garden forms part of the City Garden.
