Mänttä Art Festival 2026 is Finland’s largest summer exhibition of contemporary art. From 14 June to 31 August, the 30th festival edition presents On Being at Pekilo.
Mänttä Art Festival 2026, also known as the XXX Mänttä Art Festival, is the 30th edition of Finland’s largest summer exhibition of contemporary art. The event will take place from 14 June to 31 August 2026 in Mänttä-Vilppula, at the festival’s main venue, Pekilo Exhibition Centre. The theme of the 2026 exhibition is *On Being*. The exhibition is curated by Leena Kuumola, an award-winning Finnish art critic and specialist in contemporary art. More than 30 artists will take part in the exhibition, exploring themes such as existence, perception, embodiment, senses and attention to the surrounding world. Mänttä Art Festival has been organised since 1993 and is considered one of the key events in the Finnish contemporary art scene. Each year, a new curator presents a fresh perspective on current art, while the former industrial building Pekilo becomes a space for installations, video art, painting, photography, sound works and other forms of contemporary art. The event is suitable for visitors interested in contemporary art, cultural trips in Finland, exhibitions and unusual summer destinations. The exhibition is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00, including Midsummer.
